Walking Taco Journal
A walking taco is a type of taco orginatted from Mexico. I personally haven't tried one but from research they put ground meat, ground chuck, taco seasoning, beef broth, and tortilla chips to make the meat for the taco. Additions to the taco include black beans, lettuce, salsa or taco sauce, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, diced tomato, black olive, and jalapenos. Directions to cook a Walking Taco are, you have to fry the meat into a skillet. When the meat is brown you add the taco seasoning mix plus the water or broth. (You chose). You have to let it shimmer for at least 10 minutes or until the liquid is reduced down. Keep the meat mixture hot in a crock pot, and have all the ingredients next to the crock pot, so if you have company over, they can make their own. Instruct everyone to crush the tortilla chips for them selves (individual size bag) then open it up and add all the ingredients they want, meat first. When they have the toppings to the bag, close it up and shake it vigorously. Open the bag, grab a fork, and eat it. Hence the name, you can walk around with the taco, while eating it.
