Patriotism Essay:
I stand on the edge of a bridge, starting to release my grip. My teeth clench, as my fingers let go of the rope. My body falls forward, falling with a splash in to the ocean. “Goodbye.” I murmur before my figure disappears beneath the surface. Bulling happens every day, some result in suicide, others, beaten to death, we need to stop bulling before we find more teenagers, and some adults, dead. Sometimes bulling can be by the parent, like when fathers are forcing the son to be in a certain sport, and the mother saying the daughters need to be the best. It’s the pressure that the parents put them through that makes them go crazy, not knowing who to believe. The fathers also think that the sons are going to be exactly like them, teaching them about their jobs, and how they are going to work there. They are keeping their children captives of their home, with no communication with the outside of they think that they control their child’s future. Every 7 seconds, a child gets bullied, so on average, 30% or more children get bullied a day. Victims or observers should report these bullies to a teacher, parent, police, or any other trusting adult, before it’s too late. Patriotism is all about being loyal to your country, and helping the people in it. When you report someone to an adult, you might be saving a life, think about it. Patriotism includes treating all people with respect. All people are created equal and we all have the right to be here. People have the right to express themselves through religion, or just to express themselves, such as, the girl who recently was suspended many times for having a nose ring, that supports her religion that allows body piercing, tattoos and more. The Supreme Court sued the school. Patriotism ensures that individual rights and freedoms are maintained. If patriotism was still important today what would your response be? Mine would be “yes" because even though other might disagree, people have the right to be created equal.
