When a young boy named Bastian under covers a hidden land buried deep inside an ancient looking book, he is sucked into the most thought out fantasy ever. When “The Nothing” sweeps over that land, the Child-Like Empress sends a young boy named Atreyu, out to stop it. Thus began an incredible journey of strength and finding your inner self in The Never-ending Story by Michael Ende.
The Never-ending Story is a book in the mode of romance. It shows the devotion of a young boy to his Empress. Atreyu gave everything just to find the cure to “The Nothing” and to save his land, like the true warrior he was meant to be. His courage was as strong as a soldier risking his life for his country. Many would agree that this story is a strong example of a young boy’s love to his leader and the land he lives on. This story will remembered forever because of its wonderful and well thought-out plot of discovery. There are many complications on Atreyu’s journey including trying to get out information from Morla the Aged One. The main objective of this movie/ book is to find all the oracles without being wiped out by “The Nothing”
Bastian had thought of Atreyu as a second personality, the person that he wanted to be. Strong, brave, courageous are all the traits that Bastian wished he could have. After everything ended, Bastian had gained everything Atreyu had, plus a mind that could make anything possible.
