Persuasive Essay:
Abortion: Murder or Necessity?
Is abortion a murder or a necessity? Many people would argue over this, but in my opinion, I think both is acceptable. Murder because some people just didn’t want babies in the first place, and necessity because some of the birth parents could have a disease that could spread on the baby, and they abort them because they don’t want someone to suffer the same thing they did. To make this essay simple, I am going to take the side of people who think this is murder. If you don’t want a baby, why be unprotected?
Do you believe every single individual is unique? Do you believe one person can change the world? Well, if some babies were not aborted, then we might have more unique people, more people that could be able to change the world. The woman had a choice to be unprotected or protected. I think that the babies should have a chance at life, to know what life is really about.
People who decide to have an abortion, should change their mind almost instantly. Around 45 million abortions happen each year throughout the world, 115,000 each day. In result of abortion, we loose probably a quarter of the world population, why abort?
Character Essay:
For my character essay, I chose the character PonyBoy Curtis from the book The Outsiders By S.E. Hinton. This story takes place 8 months after PonyBoy’s parents died in a car accident. He lives with two older brothers, Darrell and SodaPop. In this story, there is two types of groups that always get into conflict, the Greasers and the Socs. The Greasers are kids that are most likely abandoned or feel unwanted; they also have long silky greasy hair. The Soc’s are the rich kids, always getting what they want and such. PonyBoy and his brothers belong in the Greasers. The whole point of this story is how family and friends should stick together forever. Even though their families might be messed up, they have each other, a strong bond that can’t be broken. They fight side by side against the Soc’s, trying to defend the place they call home, but when a Soc turns up dead, two Greasers, Pony Boy and Johnny, must flee for their lives. Pony Boy is now living in the mountains with short blonde hair, in a house that only Johnny’s protector, Dally, knew about.
A fire cause’s rupture in a boy’s life. In the end, Pony Boy loses his best friend, but he gets over that, because he knows that he has family that will be with him through it all. The family bond is a bond that sticks together. This must be the most touching story I have ever read because of all the life related things that stuck out to a lot of people, that might have happened in their lives also, it relates to a lot of people’s lives.
