The Lie

A white letter appeared in the mail, a young boy picked it up and ripped it open, seeing the contents and ripping it up. The boy hid the remains and ignored it, hopping his parents wouldn’t find out. Several months later, the boy is riding in his car with his parents, who were rambling on about how his entrance exam score was so high. But their plans unravel in front of them when they find out the truth. What was something you have lied about before in your life that has been worse than this? In The Lie by Kurt Vonnegut teaches a lesson you will never forget.

A young boy is on his way to a top 10 school, but has a secret that he is afraid to tell his parents. When they got there, they found out that the boy couldn’t attend it. As much as they asked for the administrators to give the boy a chance, they denied and sent them home. The mom didn’t want him to go, but his dad was furious at his son.
The lie teaches a lesson that is that no one should lie something this important to their parents, because they trust you, and you are losing their trust by lying. To read the whole story of The Lie, print a copy from your computer and enjoy.

To Catch an Identity Theif Essay

To catch an Identity Thief
Money is mysteriously disappearing, credit cards coming out of nowhere as if they are making themselves. Familiar faces surround Karen Lodrick as she sits with a latte at a local Starbucks. To catch an identity thief is an article about a young woman trying to catch the person who stole her identity.

“Ed I’ve got to go.” Karen told her friend. “I’ve got to follow her!.” Those were the words Karen said as she started to follow the familiar, identity stealer of a woman. Soon Karen found out the woman, Maria Nelson, was on probation and would be arrested.

The arresting officer said the identity thief Maria Nelson had at least 60 prior arrests. Karen continues to get mysterious phone calls and is afraid that her identity was sold at a black market nowhere to be found, and may not have it ever again. The ending of this story isn’t a fairy tale, this is reality and reality is not always a happy ending. At least Karen caught the identity thief .

The Third Wish Essay

The Third Wish
The great forest stretches for miles, the smell of the salt from the flowing

river overcomes every living creature living there. The sound of wild screeching

echo through the hallow forest. The sight of birds flutter in zigzags in the sky

making it a world of feathers. The Third Wish is a fairy tale with a modern twist it

contains a hero that isn’t greedy or selfish, but content except for one thing he

desires.

The Third Wish is a story that everyone should read. The Third Wish isn’t

just about a human wishing foolishly, but about a man with the strongest

emotion, love. This leads to a amazing story .The best part of this story is

when Mr. Peters dies happy. “Mr. Peters was found dead in his bed with a smile of

great happiness on his face. In his hands which lay clasped on his breast were a

withered leaf and a white feather”. It was a time of sadness, happiness and

peacefulness.

The reason Mr. Peters didn’t use the third wish is because he was already

happy in life and needed no more. After wishing for a wife, then wishing her back

into a swan was enough. He continued to visit the swans. The thirds wish

continued to keep a man content. To learn more about The Third Wish, find a

The Pearl Essay

A family of three, Kino, Juana, and Coyotio venture out searching for riches with their pearl, and a cure for Coyotio’s scorpion sting, but what they don’t know is that the pearl will bring evil and sorrow to the family. This story reminds me of a TV. show my brothers watch called Maya And Miguel, when Maya gets some strange ideas which causes her to meddle into other peoples lives, thinking it will help but turns out to be the complete opposite. The story teaches the reader that you may think something will turn out right but it does the opposite.

Evil spreads throughout the family, and all the problems are linked back to the pearl. Kino thinks he know what is best for his family but Juana knows something isn’t right, she tries to tell him to get rid of the pearl but he doesn’t listen, I think that Kino should’ve listened to Juana.

Although this story ended in sadness, I enjoyed it because I read books similar to this book, and I am familiar of death. To read more of these adventures and troubles find it in your local library today. “The Pearl” contains a very valuable lesson that gets learned by learning things don’t always go the way you want them to.

Friend and Enemies essay

Friends are people you can rely on, someone who you can tell your secrets to, the person who will be there in hard times, a shoulder to cry on. Enemies are the opposite of friends; they are there just to keep you mad, people who are abusers fall into this category. You may think that enemies are evil super villains that are in action movies, and friends are the superheroes, who catch the enemies and put them in jail, it’s not right to believe that stuff. Friends, people who you can trust to keep you safe, enemies, people who hurt you emotionally, or even physically, we all have friends and enemies.

Enemies, are people who you can’t trust, and you should try to keep them out of your life. If cared for, they might try to ruin your life, by telling lies and trying to push you friends out of your life. Things like this happen in everyday life. Another type of bullying is when the bully is someone who is trying to prove you wrong and try to deny your memories; an example of this happening is in the short story All Summer in a Day By: Ray Bradbury.

Friends, are the people you can keep close, the ones you can trust. You can care for them and unlike enemies; they won’t try to destroy your life by telling lies. Everyone has a friend, who is always there when tragedy strikes or when someone hurts you, they are there to cheer you up. Some examples for a great friendship are in the short story The Black Stallion and the Red Mare by: Gladys Frances Lewis.

Friends and enemies are two different things in the world, friends can turn into enemies if they tell lies about you, that tells you that they weren’t good friends or people to hang around with. Everyone has friends and enemies but some more than others, stay away from enemies and always have friends with you.

A secret for Two

The clambering of hooves and the squeak of wagons wheels are heard down the small passageway called Prince Edward Street. An irrseperatable couple with a secret that only two can know, it is held between a man and a horse. A Secret for Two is a story that teaches the reader that secrets can’t remain hidden for a long time.

When things are kept, people don’t know what’s going on between others, and they could tell when something they aren’t telling them, for instance when someone takes something from that person, they would not talk because they might be afraid it might escape their minds. When things happen, people will find out what is happening when tragedy strikes. The secret in this book should have been kept a secret. People all around us have a secret. Some of them, are known by other. Some have never been spoke about. This story reminds me of the short read called Black Stallion and the Red Mare, because in that story, secrets remain unheard. If an older person died, their wife/husband will eventually die also.

A Secret for Two foretells a sad story about how the worse of all secrets can be spilled through tragedy. People think that things like this story couldn’t be true, but they might be wrong because things like this go on every day. Secret, some need to be told to others, some others need them to keep to themselves, but all of them can’t remain hidden.
