Advice for the class of 2016

If you have Pre-Algebra with Mr. Giese you have to maintain a C+ or higher throughout the whole year. His teaching methods might seem difficult but overall they are pretty easy if you know what your doing. He teaches you everything you need to know and gives you plenty of time to come in for resource and stay after school for extra practice on something you don't quite understand, until you understand it.

If you have Art II with Mrs. Carroll you have to know that she talks a little too much and needs to provide her students with more work time. A positive to this class is that she has a wide selection of projects that you can work and complete and they don't always have to be the same thing as the other students in the class. One of the negatives to this class is that she does not allow gum in the class room.

If you have Mr. Roehl for Science class you have to know he is very funny but can be strict when it comes to turning in your homework in time, he will stay on your case if you haven't completed a overdue assignment.

Journal- June 6th 2011

As a writer I have evolved a lot.
I started off as a 7th grader who didn't really understand the whole point of grammar, and didn't know to set up essays. I used to write short stories with no meanings, and never finished them.
Now as a 8th grader I right proficient level essays and when I am writing stories I use bigger and more stronger words, and I write with more meaning.
I still have a lot to work on, some of my weakness' are sentence structure, and where to use words to make the story more interesting and exciting.

As I get older I want to be able to write in an advanced level, and possibly become a very popular author.

Fiction Seminar Short Story Middle Paragraph

Bliss clenched her baseball bat firmly in her hand. The rain splattered down on her as well as the sidewalk. She trudged over to a small diamond store on the corner of the long street. The neon lights of the ‘open’ sign flickered off. She hid in the corner of the dark street and waited for the last employee to lock up the building. Bliss moved quickly to the side of the shop. Once the employee was out of sight she swung the bat at the windows, watching the glass shatter and fall around her. She lept through and started smashing all the diamond cases stealing whatever she could before the police came. After fitting a pound or two of the riches in her pockets she ran over to the cash register, digging through the thousands of dollars that were obtained in it. In the distance she could hear the police sirens. Bliss frantically gathered everything that she needed and started towards the door, but before she could leave a policeman entered. He noticed a shadow in the corner of the store. “Who’s there?” He yelled. He moved deeper into the store and looked to where he saw the reflection only to see that Bliss was gone.

Short Story- The Beginning

In a world where everyone is born with a moon tattoo on their shoulder, there is a prophecy that says two will come who are “different yet the same.” One will have the power to save the world, and the other will have the potential to destroy it. This prophecy comes into play when two children are born at the same time, miles and miles in between them. The first is born in a village to the north of Aeralyn, with the given name of Lily Ross. She is different from everyone else in the world, for her moon tattoo is crystal clear. The second prophesied child is born in a much different setting, for he is the son of the King of Aeralyn. But this Prince is unlike any before, as he is born without any tattoo at all. He is given the name David Moiln.
Not many people in Aeralyn know the prophecy that speaks of the two children, but those who do matter, as they are the ones who know that if they gain control of both children, they will have the power to both save and destroy.

Then, one day, the time comes for the children to learn of their destiny when Lily’s village is burned to the ground by an invading army. Lily is the lone survivor, and takes it upon her 15 year old self to tell the King about the invaders. Once there, she is told about her role in the prophecy, and she and David set off to try and stop the invasion, along with Ronnie (the King’s closest advisor, also the one who knew about the prophecy), and Sal (a member of the King’s Royal Guard) for protection and help.

Lily Ross opened the tiny door to her house. The sweet aroma of honey bread filling the air. “Momma! Poppa! I’m home!” She declared; her voice cheerful. Her small dog greeted her by running around her ankles yapping happily, but its spirited personality faded and was replaced with a soft whimper. An ear piercing screech sounded out followed by the loud pounding of horses trampling over a dirt path. Lily’s actions were accelerated, ready for any type of emergency that reigned on her home. She teared out of the small shack and up the stained pavement. Rain stormed down from above and ascended to the cloth on her back.

Reflection १५/४/२०११

If I were to go down into history I would like to be known as a famous author or artist. I probably wouldn't have that much control over how I would be remembered because the fans/government get to choose whether or not they give me special awards. I most likely will remember this school because it taught me everything I know, art and writing wise. Others will remember me as a good friend.
I thought the program was funny and interesting because it was cool to find out things that have happened that I never knew of.
My favorite story was probably the 1st.

Question #1
How did it feel to be put in a situation where your parents were dead and your brother was leaving to war?
Response:
It was quite frightening, I didn't know what to do for I am only 8.. There was no one to take care of me except the other members of the camp, but I didn't know them that well.

Question #2
After the story ended, how did you feel?
Response:
I was pretty happy that my brother had made it home safely without being severally injured
Question #3
How are you changed by what happened?
Response:
I have grown stronger, physically and mentally, the many raids upon our camp and the many times I fought in them made me feel like I was powerful.

The article surprised me one the things I didn't know. It was great to learn something I never knew about. The fact that women fought in the war surprised me the most, they were very brave to pretend to be men. I would use this article to help with my report.

My character is being overcome by the feeling of fright. Her brother is going out to war and she is scared that he might not come back. But she knows that if he doesn't, that he died for his country. She believes that if he wins the war, the world will be a better place, full of peace and kindness. She wishes her mother was still alive, to see how they were growing up in a dangerous world like hers. She is worried that her town might be the next town to be destroyed by the rivals.

If I could fight for anything it would be for the stop of animal abuse. I would fight this in a civil manor, no physical contact with others in anyway. I would sign many petitions and start a few of my own. I will start rebellions. Think about it, how would you feel if you were a poor innocent animal in the arms of an abuser? Our generation may be the one to bring the end to animal abuse, if we work together we can make in possible.

Reflection

1. How was your discussion? In our discussion we didn't really stay on the topic of Glee itself, instead Jackie talked about the hot guys. The audience did get out of control, and we needed to grab their attention back.
2. What did you do well? Personally, I only think that our introduction went well, it grabbed the audiences attention but then we lost them when we started talking about our ideas.
3. What could you have done better? I think that we should have stayed on topic so maybe we could convince the audience of Glee being the best show.
4. What did you think of the assignment? I think it was kinda sudden, we weren't prepared to preform.
5. What was challenging about this assignment? Defiantly trying to keep the audiences attention.
6. What surprised you by being really easy for you? The introduction was really simple and caught the audience.

If you were in control of the school, what (3) changes would you make and why? Would the students still be ready for high school?

If I was in control of the school, first I would change the amount of homework that is to be submitted and give it an extra day for the students to work on. Because therefore the days in between given homework we would be able to have more practice on what we were learning. I would also change that we have a recess, and get some playground equipment, so we have something to do when were done eating lunch.
The students should be ready for high school because we would still be teaching the same things we are now.

The Constitution is the highest law in the United States. All other laws come from the Constitution in some way. The Constitution also provides the framework for the government of the United States. It creates things like the Presidency, the Congress, and the Supreme Court. Each state has its own constitution that is the highest law for the state — but even then; the United States Constitution is higher.
Over time, some things have been added to the Constitution. Called "amendments," these add-ons list some of the rights of the people. By listing these rights, they are made special, and it is illegal for the government to violate those rights. As of 2006, there are 27 amendments to the Constitution. Not all of them involve rights, but many do. The first ten amendments, in particular, have the special name of the Bill of Rights.

Can human beings ever truly be equal? What would the world look like if we were?

I think that someday everyone will be treated equally because the government will come to their senses and declare a law which stands for the equality between races. When we are equal everyone would be able to do mostly anything they want if it doesn't break the law. Everyone will not be treated differently for their religions, beliefs and races.
